What are ceramic capacitors?

Ceramic capacitors are capacitors made of ceramic which is one of the first materials to be used in the production of capacitors due to its characteristic of insulation. They own very high capacitance values for their sizes and they are made in the range of 1pF to 220nF. They work with a voltage of up to 50V and are made with a wide range of tolerance values.
One main advantage of ceramic capacitors are that their structure is not a coil internally so as to they have low inductance. Just because of this characteristic, this kind of capacitor are highly suitable for higher-frequency applications. Besides, they are widely used for multiple purposes, such as decoupling.
At present, the most often used capacitors in modern electronics are the multi-layer ceramic capacitor and the ceramic disc capacitor
